When tutoring, Ayra tailors her teaching method to suit the individual strengths and weaknesses of her students. The overarching goal for Ayra always remains excellence, whereby she is able to support her students as well as possible in advancing their academic horizons. She prepares consistently for every lesson, and ensures students feel prepared for all upcoming assessments.
Ayra’s tutoring approach is based around the setting and fulfilment of both small and large goals that will be able to maximise and enrich the academic performance of the student. Ayra sees organisation and planning as critical to success for her students. Ayra values providing consistent feedback to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the student’s ability and their growth. Identifying different learning styles, she encourages students to always pursue further reading, listening or viewing through research as a way to heighten the students’ academic understanding of concepts and ideas.
Ayra has always had an affinity for history, appreciating the way it chronicles the past and informs the present. Throughout secondary school, Ayra has achieved highly in the subject, coming 1st in Elective History in grade 10, and topping both histories in HSC where her passion and drive culminated in her formal position as History Captain in 2018.
As an avid History enthusiast at school, as well as fostering a passion for Chemistry, Ayra was drawn to medicine as a field that she knew would enable her to explore both interests. Looking back, she couldn't be more grateful for studying History, as she believes that the evidence-based decision-making inherent to the subject is common to Medicine, and will guide her on her way to become a successful practitioner.
In addition to tutoring, Ayra is heavily involved in University life, recently taking upon the role of a first-year representative for the charitable medicine club, Insaka. She enjoys playing the piano and debating
